ANSA-EAP promotes transparency and social accountability in public school service delivery in the Philippines through the checkmyschool.org initiative. It is being implemented in close partnership with the Department of Education.

Checkmyschool.org contains school information on enrolment, budget, teachers, textbooks, seats, achievement test results, among others.

Interactive features, such as text messaging, social networking, and polling, are also made available for school stakeholders to send feedback and comments. These are being consolidated and sent to concerned Department of Education authorities.

Current information in the website came from various offices, such as the Basic Education Information System (BEIS), Physical Facilities and Schools Engineering Division (PFSED), Instructional Materials Council Secretariat (IMCS), Procurement Service (PS), National Education Testing and Research Center (NETRC), and Budget Office. Checkmyschool.org will rely on community volunteers to update the initial sets of information in the site.

The Checkmyschool.org maps schools using the Global Positioning System (GPS). It also provides online platform for various education initiatives, such as the textbook deliveries and disaster risk assessment for schools.

The tagline “Promoting transparency and social accountability, one school at a time!” encapsulates the strategy to make education information relevant in a concrete way. It means facilitating response to a school issue through the collective efforts of government, community, civil society and private sector stakeholders.
